Marketing Assistant
£21,450 pro rata
2 days per week (£9,152) with the possibility of 3 days work. This is a mixture of work from home and office
Main function of the job
To effectively assist the marketing manager to promote TAPS and MAW including our live events, festivals, workshops and exhibition programmes. To assist managing social media channels and using print and online tools, including website and digital marketing tools to engage and develop our audience, continually reviewing the success of these activities.
Main tasks
- To assist in supporting the development and delivery of our marketing strategy, aligned with the aims of our vision, mission and ACE principles.
Marketing
- Maximise audience engagement through marketing campaigns including advertising (print and online) social media engagement, and mailshots.
- Managing and developing content on our social media channels
- Writing copy, sourcing images and producing rich content such as audio and video
- Co-ordinating mail-outs, advertising, listings and print distribution schedules in line with marketing and audience development plans
- Develop content for the website, ensuring it is up-to-date, accurate and engaging.
- Create and distribute publicity and advertising material for upcoming events
- Keep up to date on current arts marketing practice
- To attend staff meetings where appropriate.
- To contribute to advocacy for and development of both organsiations
- To observe and promote our agreed policies and procedures, eg Health and Safety.
Other
We are a small, artist-led space, and we pitch in to help each other in busy times. We also all work to keep the building clean and tidy.
Person specification
- This is an entry level job. Applicants will be required to prove a qualification or at least 1 years experience working within this field.
- Strong communication skills
- Good interpersonal and team-working skills
- Good attention to detail, combined with first-class organisation and time management skills
- Ability to remain flexible and proactive under pressure, demonstrating persistence, reliability and resilience.
- A good knowledge of the local arts scene and working within arts and cultural events specifically
- Weekend and evening work will be required as appropriate to our event schedule, so being available during these times, and having a flexible approach to short-term and unexpected working is critical
