Redbarn Residency
Artists Residency supported by The Auxiliary Project Space
Seeking Tees Valley independent artist for a week long residency
The Auxiliary is inviting applications from Teesside based artists for an artist residency at Redbarn in Youghal, Ireland. The artist in residence can use the week for developing ideas, research or as a retreat to recharge their batteries in an idyllic rural location close to the sea. The space does not have a separate studio, so please think about this within your application. The residency is run by creative instigator Richard Forrest and since 2020 he has been working to transform a derelict site into the residency space. 2024 marks the first year the residency will take place. To take part in this residency, British & EU Citizens will only require a valid passport; no VISA is required. Non EU passport holders may require a VISA, please check with your respective embassy. We will support the selected artist with their travel arrangements and would encourage the sail and rail route as an alternative to air travel.
