Collective Radical Re-imagination: Citizen Powered Projects
We are thrilled to announce that our sister organisation, Middlesbrough Art Week, has been awarded a Creative Community Award from Borderlands CPP as part of their latest Communities of Possibilities Awards.
Borderlands CPP has selected fourteen groundbreaking projects that embrace their theme of Collective Radical Reimagination, and we are proud to see Futures in Play: A Radical Repowering (FiP:ARR) among them. This initiative is a collaboration between Middlesbrough Art Week and Furtherfield, and will create participatory, playful spaces where local voices can co-create, experiment, and shape collective futures.
Through a series of workshops, community visits, and the development of Chamber LARPs (Live Action Role-Playing scenarios), FiP:ARR will amplify underrepresented voices and explore alternative futures.
This project is a testament to the power of collaborative storytelling, imaginative play, and speculative world-building as tools for social change. You’ll be able to experience this project yourself at Middlesbrough Art Week 26 September - 5 October and Borderlands’ Weekend of Dreaming.
We are excited to be part of this community-driven creative movement and look forward to seeing how FiP:ARR evolves alongside the other brilliant projects supported by Borderlands. Look out for more updates on FiP:ARR and Middlesbrough Art Week coming soon.
