°Ultrasonic speakers use directional sound beams rather than traditional sound waves. This creates the sensation that the sound is forming inside the listener’s head, making it an immersive and surprising experience.

Sonic Arts Week is a free, family-friendly festival celebrating sound as a unifying force. We’ve cruised the River Tees with wireless headphones, featuring sound from bridge vibrations and underwater recordings. We’ve turned bicycles into instruments translating air quality into sound, filled Centre Square with lunchtime concerts, rolled giant sound horns around town, had strange knights in tin armour play donk and brought Captain Cook Square alive with a theatre/dance/drum & bass troupe.
